There are many independent women’s clubs throughout England and Wales, and a growing number of men's clubs with women's sections.

A strong league structure leads up to the Premier League (North and South) with an annual system of promotion and relegation; while there is also the National Knock-Out Cup.

The major county competition is the ECB Women's County Championship, while Super Fours bridges the gap for the elite players between domestic and international competition.

There is also the ECB Women's Twenty20 Cup, plus ECB Girls County Age Group competitions at U13, U15, U17 level; and the ECB Girls County Age Group Twenty20 Cup.
