Cricket Facilities in Cumbria

guide to funding

The latest version of the ECB's Sources of Grant Aid and Funding for Cricket Clubs booklet is now available. As with previous editions, this booklet contains information on the ECB's funding streams for cricket clubs as well as those provided by Sport England, The Lord's Taverners and many other funding bodies. The document is available to download at www.ecb.co.uk/funding,

Back in 2009 CCB produced a Facility Strategy based on all Focus Clubs and the Indoor Centres that the CCB used for its coaching courses. This identified the gap in facilities at the Focus Clubs and Indoor Centres. We now have a quality strategic document that has prioritised investment in both Indoor Centres and Focus Clubs secured through the ECB Trust Fund and other funding agencies. The current CCB Facilities Strategy runs through to 2013 and is reviewed in September every year. You can download CCB Facilities Strategy and ECB's National Facilities Strategy in full below, as a PDF.

Having a CCB strategy has secured funding for the below Focus Clubs:

Cleator CC, Workington CC, Barrow CC, Whitehaven CC, Netherfield CC, Cockermouth CC, Lindal Moor CC, Kirkby Stephen CC, Furness CC, Nunwick CC, Penrith CC, Wigton CC, Arthuret and Esk CC, Sedbergh School Academy - Development of Indoor Centre and 6 Bay outdoor net facility.

To date the total funding that has come into facilities in Cumbria through the ECB Trust Fund and Community Club Development Fund is £865k

We aim to support any Club affiliated to CCB to secure funding for projects that will develop Clubs, the local community and cricket in the County.

We understand that all Clubs need support; in fact some may say that Focus Clubs don't need the support that other Clubs do. We have assisted several Clubs that are not Focus Clubs to develop-in fact some of these Clubs have now become a CCB Focus Club-this is possible for every Club provided the project is sound in development and the Club is registered to work to ClubMark accreditation.

Clubs such as Kirkby Stephen CC and Westgate CC have benefited from CCB support
